Koshindo Art operates this store and website, including all related information, content, features, tools, products and services, in order to provide you, the customer, with a curated shopping experience (the "Services"). Koshindo Art is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose your personal information when you visit, use, or make a purchase or other transaction using the Services or otherwise communicate with us. If there is a conflict between our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, this Privacy Policy controls with respect to the collection, processing, and disclosure of your personal information.

The Koshindo Art mobile app (Android and iPhone)

This section covers the Koshindo Art app for Android and iPhone, published by Koshindo Art. Everything above applies to the app too; this section adds what is specific to it.

What the app collects, and why

• An app account. When you open the app it creates an anonymous account for you (a random ID, no name or email) so your cart, details and orders stay with you. If you choose to sign in with Google, Apple or an email address and password, we receive the email address and name that provider shares with us, and which provider you used. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see them. Sign-in is optional: you can buy without it.
• Your orders. To place and deliver an order the app sends us your name, mobile number, delivery address (governorate, area, street, building, apartment, landmark), your email if you give it, a note if you write one, and what you ordered, including the names, colours or text you chose to personalise a piece. We use this to make, deliver and support your order, including calling you or messaging you on WhatsApp about it.
• Finding an order. When you look up an order with its number and the phone number used for it, we check both against our records and, if you are signed in, add that order to your account.
• Notifications. If you allow notifications, the app sends us a device token (Firebase Cloud Messaging, and on iPhone the Apple push token), your phone type and your app language, so we can tell you when your order moves. We do not send marketing notifications unless you have separately agreed to them.
• Usage statistics. The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to count how it is used: screens opened, products viewed, items added to the cart, checkouts started and completed (with the order number and value), searches, sign-in method and app language, together with a random app-instance ID, the device model and operating system, and an approximate location (city or country) that Google works out from the IP address. On Android the Analytics SDK also reads the device advertising ID. We use this only to understand and improve the app; we do not show ads and we do not use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
• Crash reports. If the app crashes, Google Firebase Crashlytics sends us the technical details of the crash (what failed, the device model, operating system and app version, and an installation ID) so we can fix it. Crash reports are not linked to your name or email.
• Security records. Our server records when order or account data is read (the app account ID or "guest", the IP address and the time) to detect misuse.
• On your phone only. Your cart and the details you last used at checkout are saved on your device so you do not have to type them again. Deleting the app removes them.

The app does not collect your precise location, contacts, photos or files, and it never asks for card details: orders are paid in cash on delivery.

Who processes this data for us

Shopify (our store platform, where orders are kept); Google Firebase (sign-in, notifications, usage statistics and crash reports); Apple (Sign in with Apple and notifications on iPhone); our delivery companies, currently Bosta and Fincart, who receive the name, phone number and address needed to deliver your parcel; and the providers that host our app server (DigitalOcean and Cloudflare). Each uses the data only to provide their service to us. We do not sell your personal data.

How long we keep it

• Your app account, profile, saved addresses and notification tokens: until you delete your account. A notification token that stops working is removed automatically.
• Records of checkout attempts: 90 days. Security records: 12 months.
• Orders: kept as commercial and tax records for five years from the end of the financial year in which they were placed, as Egyptian law requires, even after you delete your account; they are then no longer linked to any account.
• Usage statistics and crash reports are kept by Google for its standard periods (Analytics event data for up to 14 months; crash reports for 90 days).

Deleting your account

In the app, open the Account tab and tap Delete my account. Your sign-in, profile, saved addresses and notification tokens are deleted straight away and your orders stop being linked to you. You can also ask by email or WhatsApp; see koshindo.art/pages/delete-account.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
